Advanced Style author and blogger Ari Seth Cohen stopped by Koi on November 23rd for very special book signing and fundraiser. Stylish ladies arrived throughout the day to meet the NYC blogger and pick up a copy of his book, Advanced Style, which is inspired by his street-fashion blog of the same name. The blog and book feature Ari’s photos of the stylish older women he’s encountered during his walks on New York’s Upper East Side.
Ari, who has a documentary coming out soon about his efforts, was accompanied by Debra Rapoport, a visual artist and NYC fashionista featured in Advanced Style the book and on Advanced Style the blog. Koi is donating a portion of the proceeds from Ari’s book sale to the Cancer Support Community of Pasadena (previously known as the Wellness Center).
Some of the fashionistas at the event:
Platforms. Sandals. Flats. Pumps. Loafers.
We’ve got boxfuls here at Koi in South Pasadena — in all colors and sizes!!
Stop by the store to try on a pair or two…
Styles from cutting-edge shoe designers like Jeffrey Campbell, J. Renee, Chocolat Blu, Re-mix, Antelope and Sacha London…
You’re sure to find the perfect pair for summer…

Take it from one of our favorite Yelp reviewers:
“I have only one word for this store.
Shoes. Oh sweet creepin’ zombies on ice, the shoes. Also, the clothes, the jewelry, the jackets, the housewares, the scarves, the shiny happiness and friendly staff. But mostly? Shoes.
You know, on second thought? You totally don’t want to go here and look at the shoes, at least not if you are a size 9. They have nothing for you. Go away. Trust me. I’ll let you know if they get anything in your size. Really.”
Sweet creepin’ zombies indeed!
